More than a mile and a half later, I found my nature buddy’s stump with gorgeous Golden Oysters surrounded by Great Waterleaf plants in full bloom. When I first encountered the Golden Oyster Mushrooms (Pleutorus citrinopileatus) in my neck of the woods in Knox County in June 2020, it was a mystery mushroom that I was unable to identify using my Ohio reference books.
